SOUTH ROYALTON VT
Ellis Memorial Bandstand
South Royalton Green
Built - 2004

South Royalton's Ellis Memorial Bandstand was built by a local resident, George White, on the South Royalton Common in 2004. It was needed to house the Royalton Town Band and to be used for other community activities and funded through private donations. It is used more extensively during the 6-week "brown bag lunch" concerts during the summer months and many other events too numerous to mention. The structure was dedicated in 2004 during a special ceremony attended by Governor Douglas. There is another bandstand on the Green that has proudly stood for many decades but deemed too small and unsafe to use any longer but still considered an important landmark to the town.
